Exam Details for the GARP RAI Exam 2026
The GARP Risk and AI (RAI) Certificate consists of a single comprehensive exam designed to assess a candidate’s understanding of AI/ML tools and techniques, AI risks and risk factors, responsible and ethical AI, and data and AI model governance. The RAI exam includes 80 equally weighted multiple-choice questions—most are standalone, though some questions may appear in scenario-based sets (typically 3–4 questions)—and candidates are allotted 4 hours to complete it. The exam is offered in April and October, with the option to test in-person at Pearson VUE CBT centers or remotely via online proctoring.
Candidates are encouraged to dedicate approximately 100–130 hours of preparation time, although the exact time required will vary depending on prior experience and familiarity with AI and risk concepts.
